Jack, Skip, Deb and others have done a phenomenal job with this event.  There is no duplicating it.  But as others have said, we can still do SOMETHING!!  So does anyone know if Foleys is still reserved?  Does it cost $ to do it?   If so, i would be willing to front the deposit if it's not too much, then we take up a collection to cover the cost on the day of the event.   
Yes, scaled back version works for me.  Everyone sign up to bring food here on the forum, bring it with you the day of and either keep it cold or drop it off at the pavillion in the morning, go fishing, keep your own scorecard, then meet at 1pm to eat, talk, and see who won.  Winner gets a massage from Cold, because HE'S THE MAN!!!!  Whatdyinz say?

The Drake and I will volunteer to handle the scoring aspect of the event.  We have a new score sheet for teams to use and will dumpt he data into an Excel spreadsheet for scoring.

Donks- I have to say that is a good idea....for the food.....

It appears that there are two distinctly different ideas on the table.  One idea is to have a get together similar to events at other venues such as the one at Oil Creek.  The other is to continue to have a One Fly Event that includes a One Fly competition.  In order to determine which format is favored, could those that have participated in the One Fly in the past and were planning on attending the event this fall until it was scrubbed please list their preference -- simple get together or One Fly Event.  This information should lead to determining what will happen this fall.

I like the format of the one fly to keep the event going with no prizes, no signin, just bragging rights and show up at a set time for a pot luck meal.

Cold

Since the Erie fishing environment is way more spread out than the area of the Oil Creek outing, it may need a bit more structure, simply for coordination purposes.  

Still, I've gone to the One Fly for 3-4 years now, and a back to basics event might be kind of nice.  If you want to keep score, fine, and those concerned with such things will be the ones that take the time to keep score and determine winners.  If you don't care for such things, don't worry about it, and just try to get back to Folly's by a set time.

If I had to make the decision for myself, I'd vote no competition, just a get together.

Congratulations indsguiz to your Grandson! Eagle Scout is quite an accomplishment and something for him and to all that know him to be very proud of. Thanks also to you and all of the other people whose tireless efforts for making the One Fly possible all of these years.

yup, get together and eat after the day of fishing, no competition necessary.  Everyone bring food/drink/utensils based on your last name as donk suggested.  Lets do this!

Just a gathering and reunion sounds good to me. Whatever is decided, I will try and make it there as I'd love to see everyone again.

Only because I have that weekend off to fish BUT I could be there to maybe start a poker game on the 20th after the days fishing,eating,and drinking.
