Rip, we started north of the causeway, but headed south of it to the stumps in the afternoon. Did about the same in both places.

Was wondering what people think on the walleye bite this year and how long it will last. I will be honest and say I have not got a walleye since the beginning of May, did really well on the slabs 2 and 3 weeks ago but I'm not doing something right for the walleye. I did well early season wading with the F-11 Firetiger but since the night bite slowed down I havent been to successful. Not complaining just giving me more of a reason to try different areas and different patterns, I know July normal slows everything down. Any opinions??

My experience may be different than other people but around the end of June and usually until the middle of July Ifind that the eyes at Pymatuning suspend. I found them quite by accident about 10 years ago and the pattern has held up even during those lean years we just had. Those blimps of fish out over 18-20 fow that are in the 15-17 foot range tend to be eyes. You might want to give it a try and see it it works for you.

I have a weekend pass to go to Pymie. I'll be fishing Friday night, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday. I can't believe that I'll have so much time to fish. I'm stoked! Any recent reports? I'm just as eager to hit crappie as I am to hit the eyes. From what I understand, there is no limit on crappie. I have my new virgin electric fillet knife and I'm ready to rock. Any helpful hints will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hit the Jamestown end this morning. From 7-7:35 I had 4 keepers in the boat and lost a much larger fish. All came from 8-10 foot of water. just a half of crawler on a split shot and hook. The pole with a jig and crawler did absolutely nothing. They wanted the bait about a foot and half behind the weight. Also caught somewhere in the 30 range of crappies and rock bass. 8-15 foot range. Tried trolling tots and couldn't get a hit but was fighting the wind and weeds.

Went out of Linesville today @ 6:30 a.m. Started out with a glass like lake and by 9:00 the wind was starting good. The water was off color....brown. The wind was coming out of the north west but the waves out of the north, the boats were drifting odd. Fishing was a negative bite. Brought home 12 crappie no eyes using jigs, minnows, worms. A west wind will be a good thing for the weekend. Water level was low, hard to find 7 foot of water. Lots of boats and no one doing real well. Gary U

My 12 year old son, 8 year old daughter and myself did relatively well this past Friday night for crappies 12-14" at Pyme using fatheads on pencil floats ~ 15" below the float in 8 fow. My daughter caught the largest one! We started at 6PM, action started at 8:30PM and we quit fishing at 9:30PM. The action was so fast for half an hour that I had to quit fishing in order to put them on a stringer and rebait hooks. It's always great to spend time with family and I know they'll remember that night for a long time. They both love eating what they catch!

I went out Friday night, all day Saturday, and Sunday til 4. I caught more walleye in those three days than I have in the last 2 years combined! What a trip! My partner and I caught well over 100 walleyes with double limits of keepers on Sat and Sun. We actually threw some legal ones back in order to keep some bigger ones. We also caught many slab crappie. I think the smallest one was 10.5 and the biggest was 15". We also caught a bunch of bull gills, nice perch, and one giant white bass. It was nearly 2lb. I caught a nice largemouth and quite a few channel cats in the 14-18" range. It was the best fishing trip that I've had in years. I can't wait to go back.

ThunderPole, thanks. It was the best fishing trip I've had in a long time. I won't be up this weekend, but let me know how you do. If you have any other questions, PM me and I'll do my best to help you out. I have a few friends that are fishing this week. I'll try to get reports from them before this weekend for you.

Well, while out bass fishing this morning I caught something I definitely never wanted to see in Pymy! We were fishing wood and flipping soft plastic and I hooked into a darn bowfin! It was about 18" or so. Thought it was a nice smallmouth till I got it close.
The worst day hunting or fishing will always be better then the best day at school or work!

I fished friday night, all day saturday and most of sunday and I only ended up catching 2 bass and 4 catfish, I dont know what Im doing wrong. I spent most of my time fishing the causeway using worms and fatheads. I fished them under a slip bobber set to 8' or a floating jig head set to be 1' off the bottom. :(
