You can park at the lot below the breast...walk past the swimming area and into the cove...shiners do well for bass bike and bigger crappie there

Yes...jockey hollow slipped my mind....is a good spot and you can get away from the launch and fish that cove with all the trees sticking out...

The cove with all of the trees is nearly impossible to fish in right now with the water being so high unless you have a boat. Don't try wading, you will be up to your chin in mud before you can scream for help. If you are heading east on Route 40, coming down the large hill just before Jockey Hollow, you will see "Dark Hollow Road". Make the left and continue until you come to a creek on your right. There is a pull off, park there, and follow the trail down towards the lake. You can't get to the lake, but where the creek widens out provides some great smallmouth action. Shiners seem to work best there. I haven't been there in years, so I'm not sure if you can chop your way through the weeds to the lake or not. Also, cross the bridge on route 40, and you will come to a boat launch on your left. Make the left, then another quick left and drop down into the parking area. There is a couple of hundred yards of shoreline to fish there. Decent for smallmouth, and walleye at dusk in the spring. I've heard about some nice catfish being caught out of the lake, but really haven't spent much time fishing for them. Might be worth a try.

    Good Luck

There really isn't much access to much of the lake from what I know. Most roads that could provide access would require you to walk through someone's private land to get to the shore. And a lot of the shore is steep and pretty inaccessible if you could get there. I'm sure there are exceptions, some of which were mentioned above.

So what were you catching? I won't make it up there until Memorial Day weekend. I really hope I can get my 6 year old son to catch a walleye while we are there.
