boat charter

My wife wants to me to take her and my daughter to the salmon river this august. I fish the river in the fall with my two sons but would like to have the girls catch a salmon. Does anyone know of a good charter around Pulaski? Thanks

    Hey Straw-
Dont know what others may advise but August is spotty at best.
Yes early runs do occur in August now and then but certainly nothing regular. Now and then we catch one here and there in August - but  also refer to them sometimes as 'scouts'.
Try a few weeks later in Sept for a good time. That said somebodys gonna jump on a talk about all the fish they once caught in August-welll there is a reason the Lodges and Hotels still have lotsa empty rooms that time of year.
For August Salmon try a lake Charter- Great fishing then close in by the river mouth when the fish are preparing to run the SR.

I may be wrong RG but I think he means a lake charter,if he does n't then you gave him good advise as August is very spotty on the river at beast.
If anyone knows a good boat captain HT does,so that would be my choice if I wanted to lake fish.

Agree Pal- Thats why I mentioned both the river and the Lake- wasnt sure bout the trip.  Would also take Tunas suggestions on stuff like that.

Ernie can do both. We see him with clients in his driftboat up in the Genesee from time to time. He can motor the 5.5 miles upstream from the launch with customers because he has the charter license.

Sorry, I will be taking a charter in the lake.  Need to do it before my boys start fall sports and school. I would like to stay and walk the river but that wont work with my wife.
