Conaeuette creek

Hey everyone.. Just curious if anyone has ever fished Conneauette creek (the one that runs through edinboro) before? Thinking about hitting it up today but never been there. What bait works best?

Thanks

Fished there years ago when i used to go to college there. Never caught a thing in that creek just off the campus. Heard of guys catching stuff there right after stocking but i personally never caught anything. The handicap fishing area below the **** on the lake used to have some monster sized fish in there so id imagine they make it downstream some. I would love to toss a line in that hole.

It is stocked with trout at the dam, so it gets picked over hard. It is small and shallow.

As for best bait thats easy they are trout, use what you would use for trout. No magic bait

Correct, I do not know how far down that extends down stream. So it might be good to find that out, or just aviod that area.

Personally dont waste your time on the stream...fish either the pond on campus (which is stocked heavily by the school with decent sized bass) or fish the boro lake. Ive caught some massive smallmouth at the beach area next to the cemetary. My personal best largemouth and smallmouth both came out of that spot. I dunno if they like the sandy bottom (from the old swimming area) or what. Caught dozens of smallmouth on rooster tails and caugh my pb largemouth on a live perch and slip rig. If you feel like driving head north to the ellwood city ****. fish the outflow area and your bound to catch just about anything there (pike, walleye, musky, bass etc)

Conneautee is stocked with rainbows and browns... should have been stocked again within the last few days. Handicap and 12 and under area is from mallory run (spillway)all the way down to the normal street bridge, which is maybe a 1/4 mile stretch. Below that is all good. They stock from the normal street all the way down to the bridge on rt.99. the lower downstream you go, the fewer people you find. try the hobbs hole and work your way upstream. its thick in there but doesnt get fished too hard. Practice catch/release people! In my opinon, trout are bad. let them go, it's way more fun to catch them over and over then it is to let them rot in your freezer
