? for rod builders on tip sizes

Or anyone who's repaired a rod tip. Two rods with about the same diamater tips need replaced. The replacement tips I got were 6/64" but they are a little too wide for the rods. What is a smaller size? When I look on Cabelas or other sites they don't seem to go by " but mm or other misc. sizes. Any suggestions on the next size or 2 down from 6/64"?

I should note I'm referring to the tube size of the rop tip, not the ring size.

They go by 64ths The next size down would be 5.5 or 5/64ths

You can take your busted rod to G-a-n-d-e-r M-t. They will fit and glue on a tip for like 3 bucks.

8'6 salmon/steelhead rods rated 10-20 and 8-20 lb test. medium and medium heavy. I use both for saltwater and medium heavy freshwater. Not sure about ring size now that I keep reading more. I'd like to go with something other than tips from a replacement kit.
