Are those depts in the main lake or the bay? Seems like they should be stacking up in the bay about now spawning.

Just got back last weekend we hammered them. Landed around 125 in 2 days of fishing. Biggest was 6.4 and few 5's but mostly 2 and 3's. Anywhere from 12-30ft main lake

Is anyone having any luck fishing for Smallmouths from shore around the bay. I have a chance to do some fishing Friday and wondered if the bay had warmed enough for the Smallmouths close into shore?

I dont know but Im going to be out there to try friday as well. If its not to windy Ill be in my yak. If its too windy I will cast from the shallows wading looking for deep drop offs. Hope that helps ya , and maybe Ill see ya out there. Good luck.

The water is starting to warm up. So its all going to happen soon IMO.

I never tried wading the Bay, I think I'll throw in the waders just in case. I usually take so much stuff it looks like a whole party of fishermen are going, not just one guy.

Watch while wading there are deep trenches all along the bay up to the waterworks park. If you wade out to close to them the sand under you feet will wash out and you will get sucked into the deep trenches.

A GREAT POINT , Ive made that mistake once and only once. You kinda have to make sure the foot you step with first is firmly planted before you take that next step.

I went in once by the first pull-off there by the campground. I was wading and throwing frogs I took one step and my entire leg sunk.. I remember couple years ago a guy died over there fishing by himself.. Be careful!

It hasn't been the greatest weather for fishing but I got out Friday morning in the yak. Not to bad in the AM but the wind started to pick up good around 1130 or so.

Fished the shallow weed beds in more protected areas out from the winds and did ok. Managed 8-10 largemouth on plastic worms. Fished it extremely slow , no weight and weedless.

I found a pattern they bass are on right now. They are on the edges of sandy bottom and heavy weeds. They are post spawn now or close to it. Got a few good females with soft bellys , so some are now on the prowl for food now that some are done laying eggs.

Let us know how you did TheUntagler ???

Deetz, saw you out there on Friday didn't say anything I noticed you were kind of in the "zone" haha. But even with this cold weather moving through the bass don't seem to mind I've been doing fine with white spinnerbaits on both large and smallmouths

Im usually in the "zone" when I fish but you should have said something...would have liked to put a face to the name. Were you wading or in a boat or other? whatever other may be ? lol

Next time flag me down or something...

Got up friday and enjoyed the day. Got chased around by the wind until I found a nice spot near west pier. Nice size largemouth on a plastic worm. Hard to beleive color makes such a big difference, but I used my fav color most of the day with no luck, when I switched to something else they hit. that was in several different locations. Only bad part of the day was when I got home and had to feed the truck. Pretty shocking total. I don't think I'll be able to get back up there for a couple of weeks.

Deetz, largemouth don't spawn til the water gets into the sixties and stays there, those largies are pre spawn , I seriously doubt they are anywhere near spawn yet let alone post spawn. If you have a thermometer and can check the temps regular you can better predict when the bass are close to spawning. Largemouth will spawn in great numbers at 65 degrees. If I had to guess I would say most of the fish you caught were males.
