Thanks Guys!
I have enjoyed a wonder career that allowed me to live my dream. I wish everyone could find as much pleasure in his or her career as I did in mine. If I had to start all over again I would pick the same career without even a moment of hesitation. But, it is now time for me to pass the torch and allow some younger man or woman the opportunity to live their dream as well. I hope they find as much enjoyment in the career as I have.
I will certainly miss it and feel pretty strange right now without a badge in my pocket. But, I still plan to stay involved in many aspects of both the Game Commission mission and the various youth programs. I also plan to finally, after thirty-five years of working law enforcement on the peek days of the hunting seasons, get to spend a lot more time enjoying the hunting seasons as a full time hunter.
I want to thank everyone who helped make my career such a rewarding experience.

Felt the same way- but ya wont miss it as much as ya think when your life quickly becomes the reality that most with regular hours enjoy. Kinda like bein born again into a world where ya can do stuff whenever ya want an nobody second guessin every move ya make anymore. Enjoy--------normalcy certainly has its place.

I will be visiting the site but so far I have been too busy to spend much time on the computer. I have gone fishing a little while each day but most of my time has been spent helping my wife put together and move a computer desk and book shelves to fill the void left where all of my office things such as desk, computer, file cabinets, etc have been for the past two plus decades we have lived in this house. I plan to fish some again tomorrow but part of the day will be spent sorting through some files, books, etc. to figure out what I can pitch and what I will keep. Then I will shift to reorganizing the basement now that it isn’t filled with Game Commission hunter education materials and all the other audiovisual equipment. I hope to have all of that kind of work finished before gobbler season. R.S. Bodenhorn

You will be amazed at how much there is to do when you retire and supposedly dont have to do anything.
