Are there any kids only trout sections in the Pittsburgh or surrounding area?

it's a bit of a drive from pittsburgh, but in Indian Head there is a park that way over stocks fish for the kids. it's in northern fayette county. there's actually two creeks that meet in the park, then flow into Indian Creek. if the kids have the fish spooked, Indian Creek is right there.

So that kids section is still at Raccoon? I remember years ago it being there, and now that I have a daughter was looking on the Fish Commission website and didn't see it listed on there. If it is in fact still there, I gotta get her out there. Thanks.

I took my son to the Buffalo Creek "Kids and Handicapped" section of Buffalo today. Pretty stream with a lot of room to spread out. The only problem I saw was that there was one handicapped person, two kids and my son fishing legally. There was however, a half dozen adults with children there (most of the kids never got a chance to touch a rod while dad or big brother beat the creek to a froth). There was also some jagoff with one crutch faking an injury so that he could wade around in the stream and some other fat P.O.S. sitting on the bank casting nightcrawlers (pretty sure his only weakness was Dunkin Donuts). Anyways, my son fished the section for a while and did pretty well banging the stockies around for a couple of hours.

There is a nice little creek over in somerset county, i think it is called schaffers or shaffer or something like that, they have a kids fishign day where they stock tons of fish, and it is on a saturday sometime in May. You migth have to look into it a little more, but I always had fun over in there.
