New Guy Checking In

Been reading this forum for a month and decided to join. Lots of good folks here and I appreciate all the good information I have read.  I live near McKeesport I love to fish and just plain enjoy catching any type of fish.  This year I intend to do a lot of fishing.  Just received a lure order from Fish USA and I am impressed.  Good guys to deal with, great prices, and my order arrived in one day.  Bill

Welcome to the site, do you primarily fish mckeesport or venture out and about?

If I agreed with you we’d both be wrong.

I fish a lot on the Mon and Yough but at times go north or south in Western PA to fish.  Thing is I catch more fish around Elizabeth on the Mon and any where on the Yough than driving to farther fishing locations.  Bill

Yes.  LM or SM bass is my favorite followed with walleye, sauger, white/stripper bass.  Of course I love hooking into the king:  a big, mean old river 'lunge.  I have had the best luck with the Storm Hot "n Tots in green or fire tiger and also Rattle Traps.  Most surprising catch was a few years ago I was working a Hot "N Tot on the Yough up from the mouth at the Mon.  Hooked a good fish that fought well.  Amazed to land a beautiful river rainbow trout 24 inches long.  Why he took that bass lure is beyond me but I sure enjoyed catching him.  Bill

Nice catch on the big Rainbow Sarge. I love throwing Rattle Traps, great all-around speed lure. Been a while since I ran into a 'Lunge, heard the population in the Mon/Lower Yough was crashing a bit....

I have not been out on those waters much, PM me if you want a partner to share expenses sometime.
