I've never fished right there. That is pretty close to the mouth on the Ohio, where I have fished though. This is spawning season for a lot of river fish, that will make their way up the tributaries.

If you have some time to kill, then it would beat just sitting around...

No trout, typical river fish from bass and carp to walleyes.

Make sure you are up on all tetanus and other shots, it's hardly clean, but does hold fish. I wouldn't wet wade, but some do.

the flood a few years back destroyed many of the good holes back that way, and flushed many of the bigger fish into the river. im not sayn that its not worth tryn.....im just sayn dont expect a state record ANYTHING. ......and +1 on the tetanus shots....its a sewer back there.

the mouth of creek is a bass hot spot very shallow flat with the hurricane silt good drop off also a big flat cat spot with big gills on for bait. lotta barge traffic there you say down stream the shore is tough to walk but is a boat bonanza use a solid gold red fin and walk the dog into those snallfaced bass also tucky bass driften a nightcrawler or crab on a bobber just tickin the bottom
    GOD BLESS
