Dry Fly Treatment
This being my first year to fly fish has any one used Loon Outdoors Hydrostop Dry Fly and Treatment it's a Permanent fly floatant for treating new flies is this necessary or needed any thoughts or suggestions of what you use would be appreciated.

It is not necessary or needed. Your flies will still get soaked eventually even with the spray. The best I can recommend is a desiccant to dry your fly, and a liquid flotant like gink or aquel to treat it. If you are using flies tied with cdc, don't treat them, just dry them.

You just have to be careful when buying Gink, some salespeople will overcharge by as much as 10 cents per bottle.

i only carry one bottle of gink and one of the shake powder, the spray is gimicky. like drake said, dont gink cdc
