lake arthur pike!

Okay so a few buddies of mine and I have been heading up the where muddy creek flows INTO lake arthur. There is a tiny breastwork/dam up there and its formed a small lake itself. While up there, just below the dam, (knee high water at most) we saw somewhere between 15 and 20 northern pike. We tried everything. Minnows, crawlers, spoons, poppers, bombers, crank baits. Everything. Not even a glance at the bait. I even managed to ram my jig into the side of the fish on numerous occasions. I've caught musky out there before, but never pike. I've gona up there three times in the last week and a half, and have seen pike out of the wazoo. But no action. Why aren't they interested. They just lay there facing up stream and are completely obvlivious to anything around them. Heck I could probably jump in and grab one. But yeah... any tips? I've never seen so many monster fish before. And im starting to feel dejected because I can't attract something that's 10 feet away from me...

They need left alone for a couple more weeks. They are only interested in one thing this time ov yr. Try deeper water & u can still catch a few pre spawn & post spawn. They spawn in most ov the cattails & thick shallow muddy weeds all over the lake in late winter/early spring.

Observe steelhead fishermen for a while. This will teach you a couple of methods to get any fish anytime to bite.

i seriously wasn't kidding though. they were THAT uninterested in what i had to offer. the other guy that went with me used everything in his tackle box as well. we could have just as easily scooped them up in a net (as illegal as that is). they were oblivious.
