Fished from about 6:30 till about 9:00 lastnight landed two with one keeper. How deep of water are you fishing there Bluntnan. The guys where I was were standing in water almost chest deep and boats were anchoring right next to them. What is your choice of bait? About froze in that water, waders not the best quality, thinking about doing this out of my kayak instead.

Gotta a pile of private mssgs from folks on here so I try to answwer all the questions in this post, 1-Im fishing the south end near Westford, but, I catch fish from Snodgrass to almost the causeway, dont be afraid to walk down the shore from public access points as 90 % of the shoreline goes unfished,I dont have a honey hole per se, just look for gravel bars that have some rise over the adjacent area, 2 ive been equally sucessful with f-11 Rapalas in chartruese and hot steel colors, 3- I dont wade past my waist as a pile of fish have hit almost as the lure breaks the water, 4- Im using 6 lb test line and the big thing is most folks reel too fast, crank it down for a few turns at the beginning and then slow down, when you think its slow enough, slow down some more, weve had moonlit nights where the fish will hit a lure on the surface. YOU CANT REEL TOO SLOW FOR THESE FISH, 5- 90 % of the fish we catch come between 730 to 11 pm

Let me help you out here ride135...bluntman posted this last year at the same time he was getting lots of PM's....I would imagine he's using the same tactics this year! Good Luck!

58* water temps already? This is gonna be a bad year for the fish. They're calling for 76 tomorrow 80 Wednesday and 74 Thursday and all sun. The water temps are going to jump. These temps keep rising like this and the lake will be 80+ by may.

The worst day hunting or fishing will always be better then the best day at school or work!

That's hard to believe 58?? I thought it was more like 48. I could be wrong tho as I don't have anything to check water temp...

wasn't the fast temp rise a couple years back determined to be the cause of the mass crappie kill?

It depends whats worth it? I fished a couple of nights ago, launched a small 14 ft boat, anchored on a sandbar fished 6:00Pm till midnight $60.00 in Van gas not counting alittle for the boat. 4 keepers 16 1/2" - 19 1/2 " all males 3 shorties but really didn't tape them, but look at all the fun I had! Wholey's fish market would have been cheaper! If I lived near(Pymy) the eyes would be in big trouble, but the $60. plus takes a little fun out of it. I fished today near home and got 20 gills over 8" and 4 crappie over 10" and like pannies just as much as eyes.5 trips will be plus $300,this gas sucks.Oh all fish caught on Rap 11's black/silver and chart./silver.

I thought that might have been a typo, or an inaccurate thermometer...
But it was 61* last night where I was.
1 keeper & 2 shorts in an hour & a half of fishin.

While I've enjoyed the spring weather, a lake temp ^ 14* in 4 days! Unreal!
Hope it doesn't make for the shortest run ever.

BTW - good story allhookedup...ker-splash! lol
