Feedin frenzy down at the Riverfront today. Figured the Mon would be a muddy hell after all the rain but it was anything but. Got a text msg from a friend about 7pm said he was killin em, a lot of white bass. He said smallmouth close to the size of the one I caught below snapped his line, also pulled out one eye. I bolted down there and in about 45 mins I nabbed about half dozen whities+smallies and this guy which is definitely the biggest I've caught down there, so I'm not giving up hope on Southside. Water was so warm. Fish just like to go nuts after it rains.

so I'm not giving up hope on Southside.

The southside has improved every year for the past 10 years or so. The smallies are more abundant and other game fish are starting to make their return as well. Never give up hope on the good ole SS. I remember the days of only catching monster carp and catfish from the docks as a kid. If you have a boat skeelol the smallmouth are all over the shores around the SS area. Have fun rippin' lip all summer long!

Got Walleye???

Anybody have info on the Allegheny down towards Pittsburgh? I was wondering if it was super high or muddy. Wanted to go out on Sunday.

Thanks!

Still pretty high, but the fish were hitting Fri evening. water was stained but not muddy then. Creek mouths are running pretty clear.
