New cold weather life jacket rule..

Just curious,
with everyone hitting the water pretty early for eyes/crappie on pymy or any of the other lakes, has anyone been stopped and reminded about the new rule requiring you to wear a life jacket until April? Personally, I am not a fan of the rule and I am just wondering if people are getting pinched for it, warned about it or nothing is being said at all.

    Been to Pymy twice this week. Haven't seen any law enforcement presence on the lake at all so I doubt anyone is getting pinched because no one is out to do the pinching. Hopefully they recognize this rule for what is..... Stupid. Another example of government feeling the need to protect people from themselves. Chug

    I just got one of those fanny pack inflatables....haven't used it yet though.
    They're a little pricey, but I could never fish in a 'normal' PFD all day.

    The PFBC also requires you to pin your mittens your coat, and you're not allowed to wear shorts until April 1st.

    Rule does not go into effect until November 2012.

    Only way to fish.

    Couldn't wear a stupid vest for 10 minutes...

    I get a kick out of the fellas with the big Orange cheapy vests around there neck on a nice summer day....

    I have a pair of the suspended types. Bass tournaments require a life vest anytime the combustion engine is on so rather than putting on and taking off I just wear the suspender type now. I can and do fish 8hr tournies with them on and don't even remember they're on. I got mine off my great uncle so I didn't have to buy them, plus they're camo so I can wear it when I'm out in the kayak come hunting season with the new rule.

    The worst day hunting or fishing will always be better then the best day at school or work!

    Buy a bigger boat. This law is for 16footers or less....

    Hey, that's me you're talking about. They give them to you when ever you rent a boat. They do make good seat cushions.

    No....thankfully it ISNT. Its boats UNDER 16 foot.

    Must not be in affect yet.
    Saw 3 boat loads of amish on Sparty pond last night and not a PFD in sight.
    And we all know they wouldn't break the law.

    In December, a buddy and I were about to put a 12 footer into Tamarack when a PFBC officer came down to b.s. with us and made sure we knew that "by law you both must have a life-jacket on at all times since your boat is under 16 foot". Technically, the law wasn't in effect I guess, but he pretended it was. O well, you can't blame him.
