Raccoon Creek Lake

It's open for fishing now right? Read somewhere that it used to shut down during March.

    Google is your friend.

During the month of March, when most trout-stocked waters are closed to fishing, anglers may fish select lakes and the Youghiogheny River and Shenango River tailwaters, which are stocked early with a portion of the spring's trout allotment. The following regulations apply:

Open season - March 1 through March 31 (no fishing from April 1 to 8 a.m. on the opening day of the trout season)
    Minimum size - 7 inches
Creel limit - 3 trout (combined species)
Inland regulations apply to all other species
A current trout/salmon permit (or Combination Trout/Salmon/Lake Erie permit) is required to fish on select lakes if an angler intends to harvest trout.

I know you can fish the main lake but what about the creek below the dam?

Good luck. I've gone there several times and can never seem to catch anything worth bragging about. Hope you have better luck than me.

I fished there today. I should of went golfing instead. small fish and a slow bite made it a verrrry boring 4 hr trip.

I usually do fairly well for largemouths along the shoreline at Raccoon this time of year. Nothing huge, but numbers of 1 lb to 2 lb fish are the norm...
