1. Allow more deer on the landscape
a. The farmers will want them killed and be more receptive to adding more days to do so.
b. The hunters will not be so concerned about the diminished herd and be more inclined to support adding more days.

My apologies Dr. Trout. Your response mentioned the extra Saturday's added if "we" (hunters) felt that the deer population still needed to be reduced. That last part lead me to believe in your opinion that's why people were for Sunday hunting. Like I mentioned previously there has to be a solution so that both sides are happy.

If they would address the falling deer numbers and the Trespass laws You would find many many of the "HUNTING" stakeholders and land owners would not oppose adding Sundays.

Heck I even bet S10 and Wayne might jump on board if these issues were addressed..

I would like to see a survey of the PFB and ask how many of those farmers that are threatening to post their land already have it posted or leased...
Would be quite hypocritical of them to threaten something to forward their agenda when they are already doing it....

According to RSB and the PGC the herd is managed by the tag allocations, Adding another day would just give hunters more time to fill the allocations set forth by the PGC to keep the herd in check.

Harvest might go up------Less tags will be issued, it really isn't rocket science...

It is also hypocritical of this group to have asked for and received many tools that required hunters to have access to thier land to reduce game populations, yet oppose this bill on the basis that they need a day of rest from hunters. The PFB lobbied previously for more hunters and got it. They either want them or they don't.

Every landowner is still free to only allow activities they choose on their land when they want them.

I even saw one PFB rep make the statement that how dare the PGC and the politicians tell PFB members that they have to allow hunting on their lands on Sundays.  Who said that?

You're assuming that anyone in favor of Sunday hunting feels the herd should be reduced more? That's an unfair statement to make.

NO ... what I am saying is that adding Sundays will increase the harvest...that's a fact ....
and many are complaining it is too small now.....and thus are against Sundays being added...

what I am saying is many hunters do not want the herd reduced more and that is why they do not want Sunday hunting and most probably would not want my suggestion about adding a Saturday either...

I should just ignore the "bullets past my house remark" if that is all you have taken from what I have posted ... but ... if you go back and read my replies you will see I mention several things and reasons I and many others around here are against hunting on Sundays.

So if this is going to turn again ... into I am just against it for safety reasons, I see no reason to continue with any suggestions or ideas on my part ...... gheezzzz

Let's run with your idea about people not wanting to reduce the herd more.  How about a real novel approach that opens up Sunday hunting but balances the increased harvest by reducing the antlerless allocations?
