Feb. Browns

Needed some River Therapy.
Got 4 good hours in till the 36 degree water temps started to get to me.

Picked up 2 Browns and missed 2 more.
Love that Sculpin wool, makes for a nice bait in the water.

    Beautiful scenary.

Might have to look into that Glen.
Last time I rolled over on the wife she said you look like an amishman.

I just grabbed the buggy whip and went for a ride.

DT there was 3 different bugs on the water when the sun would come out.
I need to learn my bugs better.
Some small little grey dudes about a size 20, some teeny little guys I couldn't even see color on probably a 22 or smaller and when the sun would heat it up for a few there were some large bugs I never did get a good look at.
Saw 1 rise but not sure if it was a trout or a sucker.

i know the river has tons of caddis hatches just don't know when they start. i would imagine the smaller ones were bwo or/and blue quills. if the bigger ones had long bodies or looked as if they had spitwings, almost like double wings on each side, while flying they were most likely stoneflies. these would usually be seen nearer the shore line as they came off.

    Nice photos!

There were some BWOs or Blue Quills or some type of Beatis (I'll go with small, dark, generic, spring dun), some small tan caddis, and some little black stones coming off the creek across form the house yesterday.

The poster formally known as Duncsdad

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.

Bings, There's been some dark midges and tiny winter stones in the afternnon. both look bigger in flight than they actually are.
BTW, I was wondering why I haven't caught a brown on that beat. You've been beating me to em.
I did manage a few bows through there.
