Broke in my new reel today...

Cool dude, I bet that nice new reel will look even better after 10 more trout, especially laid on the rocks next to it.

ACTUALLY, I was holding the rod with my right hand so that the reel wasn't laying on the ground/rocks, just wanted it in the pic because this was my first fish on the new reel. Cmon man u really think im tossing that beauty on the rocks?!?!

Back on topic I slayed 4 trout on my first 6 casts today on the stream.

For a guy that practices CPR, it sure looks like you have a death grip on that rainbow.

And for the pally, the fish tend to live longer if you don't lay them on the rocks. No way that fish just laid there all nice and calm for you to snap a picture. He looks pretty dirty.
That fish will be dead today, for sure.

Other than that, nice fish!

A couple post back, you commented that it looked unhealthy.

And please DO explain why it'll be "alright" because it's a hybrid.

The fish was out of the water for about 25 seconds. Yes way the fish stopped flopping for a second so i snapped a pic. I went back yesterday afternoon and hooked into him a second time so the fish is more than alive. The fish is "dirty" because, well, that's what happens on dirt. There's no way im not taking a pic of my first pali.

u guys need to relax, wow

Yeah, I didn't get that, either.

haha it was a bit of sarcasm, but a palomino is a hybrid trout, which in its genetics make up contains the recessive hybrid gene, not allowing it to mate but also gives it lets say a boost in durability or strength, they have more muschle make up than most, as is any creature with a hybrid gene so while i was being sarcastic, i do think the fish will be fine, and there is some truth

Not a hybrid? Thought it was just a genetic mutation of a rainbow that they selectively bred...

Ahhhhh, there it is. The classic action pose of a genetically altered "palomino" rising to size six treble hook molded with rainbow colored Powerbait.

I believe Lord Byron had the same mount in his study.
