Loyalhanna or elsewhere?

Heading out this sunday to get the lines wet for the first time this year. Kinda new to the area. I've only fished the twin lakes and indian lake (N Hunt) so far and was going to see about maybe fishing the loyalhanna around the kingston dam area. A buddy of mine pulled out some nice tiger trout there the other week. Is this an ok place to start or should I try somehwere else in the area. I don't want to try the yough just yet. Just want to get the lines wet. Thanks for the help.

    That's a good spot, there's others up and downstream from there. Not sure how productive it is this time of year though.

    Hope you are hardy, with the area forecast to have snow and temps between 15 and 25 all w'end!....Unfortunately...I HATE it....

    I fished the delayed harvest section back on Dec. 30, caught 2 in about 4 or 5 hours fishing, it was stocked in fall so it has fresher fish give or take some may go up an some go downstream.
