i fish for native brooktrout in streams the size of drainage ditches. the one creek has one hole that is the biggest and my buddy got one over 18. keep in mind this is a creek that youd think only chubs live in. i usuly see a small stream ill stop and fish it to find out if they are there.

The big fish are in the water.

tons of awesome streams like this in the ANF. there more than a few under the radar streams that could hold a 15+ inch fish. that will take some hard work to get to the bigguns, but they are out there.

Quebec. Watching north American fisherman the other day, he was catching 16+ brooks every cast plus lakers and salmon. He said something like 46 fish in 46 casts. Obviously not not local, but it was cool to watch.

Yea follow the truck , when they get rid of all the big breeders you will be surprised where they put them sometimes. I've seen them put in streams that you could step acrossed.

There will be days when fishing is better than ones optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Try the tributary to walnut south of Rte. 20 caught and released monster brooks there 20 years back just up from the stream less than 100 yards or so.
