The real experts use a bobber with a dry fly on the Delaware! Hehehehe. Clowns.

On ANOTHER site many consider it as evalution(but they struggled to catch fish b4 hand)--yes it's the EASIEST method to get someone w/ no experience into fish.

Steel on a pin---so easy a caveman can do it.

Some use a long green stick with a sharp bluefish hook scotch taped to the end.
Best used sight fishin on spawning fish in side channels. They say that will  get ya into fish pretty regular too.

Id have to kindly disagree...casting with a pin is not something a non experienced person can do with ease... also, many fumble with the rigging... id have to say chuck and duck is the easiest/fastest learning method for the inexperienced. No tangles or backlashes...just strip it in and lob it out there... I imagine a cave man would have no troubles doing it...lol...

casting a centerpin is easy - you don't need to use a side cast(which causes line twist) or a full-fledged Wallis cast.

If your rod is 13feet long you already start off in the +, simply pull slightly on the line, and let the reel dump line at your feet (count 3,4 Mississippi) then cast the rod and wala - you just cast the float & offering 40-50 feet.

    It's not rocket science.

IMO, Pinning has its advantages to access hard to get to water when common sense dictates that you don't bushwhack through thorns, down a steep cliff, or wade underwater. It does provide the perfect drift.

Rigging up the shot pattern takes an extra minute - no biggie.

Beginners that employ the bottom bounce get frustrated from repeated snags/break-offs, & reties. That does not happen with pinning.

    Butt,

to be honest, it gets boring after awhile, and make you a bobber knobber.

I'd rather use the fly rod for the most part.
