It at least looks like a sure bet for me to get in some trout fishing on the ponds in February thats the only good thing of this season. And the fact I can fish for burbot without my line freezing or bait. Plus the steelhead are moving up stream farther than ever before

I hope we are froze and locked up until late march. I don't see the reason you post or even look in ICE FISHING forum. Steel are way funner to catch through a hole and it is all fair catch cus ya can't see them. Trout suck to eat compared to perch crappie gills and eyes. And what fun is it to stand on the end of a pier in the wind and cold to maybe if your really lucky get a bite from a burbot. Looks like you need to stick to the fish Erie reports page pal!!!

Anyone know the status of edinboros ice after the rain? Im assuming it will be good to fish tomorrow. But assumptions have gotten me in trouble before...

Eaton was good with about 6" of mostly black ice. Fishing started off with a bang, then shut off.

By the way. Keep an eye on them shantys when the wind is howling. Saw one get away from a guy today and it blew almost the entire length of the lake before someone at the other end managed to grab it. SUCKS! Had it happen to me at pymy last year, but i managed to catch up with it.

Well Kinzua bays have a good 4-6inches on them. I was hoping Pymy was getting close to being good.

Only thing you'll have to watch will be the old holes as they will grow all day a 10" hole could be an 18" by tonight just use caution and becareful with the wind hope you have creepers.

yeah that was my shanty that I was chasing across the ice.  Definitely not fun.  Ruined my second day on the ice.  Wind ripped my anchors right out of the ice.  Shanty broke to boot.  Oh well, I can already look back and laugh.  Shanty needs a little mending now.
