Heard thru the grapevine that Lake Arthur has close to 2 inches in spots.

I don't care if all I catch are those little pikeys. Any fish off the ice would be great...

Arthur is completely ice covered, and there were a few guys ( NOT me ) just offshore at the upper 528 area today. Did ask how thick, as I was afraid the vibrations from shouting across might break what ice they were standing on.

Lake Pleasent is iced over, not sure how thick it is but the ice is as smooth as a baby's behind! You can see stress cracks running across the ice.
the next few days with highs in upper 30's to mid 40' not good for making ice, I think.

well in upstate NY and esp the ADK's there is solid ice ranging from 4>8" , even on some of the larger water bodies..
I stayed below the blue line (adk's) yesterday and found a good 6" on a pond that I fished.. Did see a few ppl out on a large lake close by but didn't stop to check..

If you are from a far or just need to walk ON water , even with the slight warm weather most of the ADK"S are good to go and still making ice..

Ice covers Duman's dam. No one fishing. Don't know how thick it is. Oviously, not thick enough.

Edinboro has 3-6" white ice. Went out close to 300 yds. Got a few gills didn't keep any. Shut off when it got dark.

Don't know how well the ice is gonna fair with this warm rain. It's coming down pretty good around the Pymy area. It's supposed to get cold starting tomorrow. We may get out the ice eventually.

The real key is if we can avoid a major snowfall before the deep freeze.  A couple nights in the teens/low twenties without any significant insulating snow will tighten things up quick.

Provided the winds are as high as they are calling for, the snow won't be a major factor cause it'll be blown off the ice. The only thing the wind will hurt are lakes like conneaute that don't have a solid layer of ice on them yet.
