Alright I got fishing at the river with my cousin and I never catch anything and he catches huge catfish big bass and walleye and saugeye any tips on how I can catch some of my own. Also I am getting into Muskie fishing any help there would be greatly appreciated. Any good spots at the river to fish would be helpful too.

I fish the allegheny river alot in the summer and fall. Walleye bite is good in the fall thru early spring, jigs and fatheads or heddon sonars are my go to baits. Musky are around from pittsburgh to Kinzua resovoir, but they are still fairly low density in the river, summer thru fall is my time to get fish.

Highland Park dam will be getting better by the week, best fished with boat but shoreline fishing is productive at times. Prety good for walleye and sauger.

Toad01 has excellent advice . While out with your cousin , question him . What pound test line is he using , hook size , style , terminal tackle size , type etc ... . Ask him why is he using certain things , learn his methods . Hopefully he'll share his knowledge with you . There is so much to learn about fishing and it can be life long . The more you learn , the better of an angler you'll be . Be ready to adapt to changing circumstances and have an idea what to do next . Don't get locked into doing one thing that is productive . Sooner or later that system will fail . Also ask other successful anglers you see when you're out . Many are willing to share their knowledge .

buy a 12 foot meiser 2 hander, learn to spey cast, learn different shooting heads/runnings lines. this should take one day. Then, swing big cone headed masterpieces and catch big fish. this should all take 2 days.

Winter time pick deeper holes , creek mouths ect.. Slower water look for breaks n bends. Fish slow ... Rember these are cold blooded animals.
