greenlick
Yesterday eve. I spent a wet lonely time throwing sticks at Greenlick.2nd time this week with only 1 other lost soul in a boat on Sun. or Mon. eve.,I only stuck around then because I wanted to see if he was going to get a chance to use his 8' "Lake Arthur" net that was sticking in the air like radar. He didn't. After getting a little wet yesterday I think that I should have stayed at home & caught some crawlers, even tho I don't usualy use them.I guess there is a fine line between being persistant & being crazy,or in my case "Senile" BTW I wouldn't be there if "e-man would quit showing those picts of "eyes". Take it easy on this old man Ed. sam

Hi Sam, between yesterday and today I spent about two and a half hours throwing sticks, wide bodies, spinnerbaits and various jigs to no avail. Not a single hit. Couple of guys out there today had a few small perch in a bag but not much else. Couple of days ago I went through my fishing gear in the garage and could hardly believe how much "STUFF" I have. Need to start downsizing what I have, think I might have a combination fishing gear yardsale and give away this spring. Heck I might even sell the boat for as much as I've used it the past few years. For as often as you and I are at GL I'm surprised we've never run into each other and talked. Have a Blessed Christmas.

Wally, Actualy we have talked before at Greenlick, I am the old fat gimpy guy that has to sit on a bucket while fishing.Once you were carp fishing with a fly rod,I believe, And once when you had a church group with you, cleaning up the lake front. I hit it harder than usual this year because the weed bed below the main parking lot never materialized this year, making it easier to throw lures. sam

i'm at greenlick all the time too. 2 weeks ago me and the wife went out. (that never happens) all i caught were mangy old bass, but she was gettin perch one after another till we ran out of bait. i'm sure i've seen all ya'll there at some point. i'd be the guy with real long hair and beard, hiding from everyone else. i rarely fish the main lot area though. too many people go there nowadays.

WallyCat and Mr.Crappie, I've talked to both of you a few times before on here about Greenlick. What kind of fish do you two catch out there? I've caught a few bass and carp there over the years but not very much. I could use some pointers on spots, baits, times, etc to fish out there. I don't have a boat so I'm limited to shore fishing and I catch and release all my fish so anything I catch will be goin back.

Jug, There are no real secrets to fishing there or at least none that I have run into after fishing there for approx.15yrs. I normaly always use lures & can say that any lure that you catch fish on will work there also. I will say that I have my best luck in low light situations,I think because of the clear water in most of the lake. You have a chance of catching most of the species found in Pa.,Although don't expect the fishing to be as good as the papers & the PFC would have you believe. There is a reason that the locals call it the "Dead Sea" & that most of the people that fish there are not locals. I mainly fish there because I think it is a beautiful lake & is usualy Quiet. If you see an old fat gimp sitting on a white bucket, stop & say HI, If I can help you with anything P.M. me. sam

Have the Bluegill gotten any bigger there? Been a while since we've Bluegill fished and they seemed a little on the small and thin side. We were using 1/32 jigs with 1" slider grubs and they seemed to just hang on I think cause they were small. Had to resort to maggots on a plain jighead to catch any and like I said they were small. Most anywhere between 3 to 5" range.
