Tamarac Lake weeping

Read a report that the dam breast near meadville end is weeping.. their solution is to do a draw-down..4-6 ft. This could prove interesting come ice season..I was 200 yrds. off shore last year, and was in 4-6 ft. of water..?? Guess now it will be MUD.. Guess i beter get a set of mud blades for my auger.. Might concentrate the scools of fish though.. Comments...

I've only fished Tamarack once since the draining many years ago...It used to be such a great panfish lake, but is stunt city now. It's too bad.

^ yep, too bad is right.
Nothing but a glorified bait pond at this point, IMO.
Won't see me out there, drained down or not.

You know I keep giving the lake a honest try.. It's not to hard to feel the same way..But after seeing numerous Large Muskies just under the ice.., Nice eyes across the lake , and Nice perch out off the H-pier .. All since the lake has re-opened.. Yes I KNOW " the old days " And I agree not a phenominal lake, but still worth a try or two.. Just my honest thoughts..NW/

Back September 2010, I was fishing along the handicapp pier cause I didnt have alot of time to fish that day, but straight off the pier about 25-30 a musky jump clear out of the water almost like a great-white shark. One of the coolest thing I have seen to date fishing

well if we couldn't fish drawndown lakes we wouldn't be able to fish pymy because they draw it down each fall to control flooding downstream so your thought process should be adjusted , besides every res. in this state is drawn down at the begining of the winter for one reason or another
