We release all eyes we get since the pfc stopped stocking eyes, the nature reproduction is low and want to catch them for years to come
i will eat some perch and crappie and they are mighty tasty
and they do test test fish for estrogen mercury and other contaminates i particapated in one a few years back allegheny river stewardship project [www.chec.pitt.edu] lead by dr voltz to see just how much contaminates where in game fish

Thanks for releasing that big girl to do her thing for the future Toad01,see you get it (the idea of a self sustaining fishery since the commission has curtailed the stocking of fry and fingerlings in the rivers) think the smaller ones in the teens are better eaters anyway.

i eat them out of the allegheny and i think they taste great. Good job on letting that breeder swim. and i agree the smaller ones taste better. i like the 15-19 range
