Conneutte Creek

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions as to where I can find up to date conditions reports about Conneutte Creek, PA side. I have been interested in hitting the stream but I would greatly appreciate learning more about it before "investing in a drive up there" haha. Any help would be great. Thanks

No guages or actual reports for the section of water that I jnow of. You should plan you trip for fishing other streams and investigate it as a "side trip".

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

welcome to fisherie... Please take this the right way, but oh boy, I can hear someone groaning now, they dislike these open ended general ".tell me about X streams before I make the Long drive.."

have you seen this page? http://www.fisherie.com/streamdescriptions.asp#conneaut

again welcome to fisherie. feel free to browse through all the stream descriptions... they really pretty detailed.

I guess that I should clarify. I am a somewhat experienced salmon fisherman, making annual treks to the Cat in NY and the Grand in OH, and I have experience on most of the PA tribs. I just have never been to Conn. Creek and I have experienced some difficulty getting reliable info about it. I would never expect anyone to give up hard earned "hot spot" info or anything like that. Just some insight is all. Sometimes that can go a long way

Conneaut in PA is not easy to fish, or figure out. It has its hotspots which are figured out by the ones that put their time in and those guys, ain't talkin on www. Most people give it a try or two and get the skunk then give up. Use the usgs gauge for water levels. PA waters have a tendency to stay a little browish from farmers fields while the water down low in Ohio turns green. You are not going to get up to date reports on it.

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

Actually the Cat. has wild populations of Coho and Shinook Salmon. Because trout (lake run rainbows included) are members of the Salmonid family I sometimes refer to them that way, but thank you for being so helpful D-nymph.

Those make great cut-offs. In 1989 I had a great pair of Jordache jeans.

Understanding what a troll is most likely implies spending too much time on this website than anything else. I got some really good info from the grown ups that PM'd me. Thanks again.

I'll have to dig up a picture I took of my garmin screen about a year ago on Conneaut creek. This particular spot is about 25' deep, if I recall and comes up to about 6' deep in a stretch of about 10 yards. It was mid December, I was duck hunting and didn't have a rod with us on the boat. Wow was it stacked up with fish.

I love cats. I just can't eat a whole one..

Sweet! I fished it once about 5 yrs. ago. What I found was it was hard to find a place to fish in Pa.
My brother did catch one. I caught a smallmouth. Met a land owner who was gracious enough to let us fish his prop.
