Pgc bows to social pressure

With their new Facebook sight up and running we can have a direct line to the PGC.

Wasn't what they had hoped for though.

They posted up a pic of an Albino bear killed here in PA during our bear season for all to see.

They took such an azz pounding from the antis they took it down.

Why is that ??

Typically anti-hunters, eco-nuts, clueless college kids, and bleeding heart liberals take to social media very well

I don't look for the facebook page to last very long....

too many anti-PGC and anti-hunting folks will be the ones posting comments there to make it not worth keeping up with ... the positive thinkers will just read it every once and a while and not reply .. sort of like here ...

Yep just another example of how a few can ruin it for the majority of folks...

I actaully hope I am wrong and it becomes popular .... but I doubt it

When you open your website to the world you risk losing control of the message you are trying to present. The PGC has been doing a good job of silencing their critics on these forums by puting their own supporters/employees on them. It will be a bit tougher for them to control what happens and what is said on places like facebook and twitter. You would think they would have considered that before jumping in. It may become popular but the PGC has to accept that they have presented the other side with a platform to air their views.

While the PGC had to know that by opening up a forum to the public they would get all views -- from blind support, to agreement in osme areas and disagreement in others, to complete disagreement on all policies, to anti-hunters (if they didn't this move wasn't very well thought out).  While it is easy enough to edit out intellectually the anti-hunters, and even the complete disagreement folks, what can't be edited out is the amount of discord that arises from those that generally support the PGC's efforts, but have a disagreement on some of their policies and they want those disagreements to be heard, understood, and looked into.  If used correctly, it could be a very good gauge of what hunters are thinking and may provide some food for thought going forward.

Or else it is a success cos it gives the PGC a chance to communicate with the public. Could go both ways. I think its a good thing.
