one fly fishing

I think I am going to stick with fishing one fly. For what ever reason I seem to hook up better with one. Plus it cuts down on my down time untangling two fly rigs. Anyone else have better luck using one.

Ive never noticed much of a difference in number of hookups with a single or tandem rig. Low and clear conditions seem to yield more foul hookups with 2 flies on a line, so I usually sick to 1.

More times than not, the fish take the bottom fly.
As they say, "One fly is fishin', Two flies is wishin'."

Not a fan of tandem fly rigs though at times know it works well. As stated before, too much down time, too many lined or fouled fish. If you have a good fly, are rigged right, make decent drifts, one is enough.

I usually use a two fly set up when dredging the bottom with nymphs. Sometimes a dropper off a dry, hardly ever with streamers. Don't seem to have too much trouble with tangles.

I rarely use tandem rigs. My motto is "Use two, lose two"

I'll fish a tandem rig when searching for fish, but once I find what they want I'll switch to 1 fly.
