I remember one of my first trips with my Dad, in the mid 1980s. My Dad bought us each a pair of the thinnest rubber waders. They split in the ****, filled with water... At least I had a change of clothes and off to the Ig/pEn' or Wall O' Nuts. Not sure if we ever really knew what kind of fish we had caught...

I can remember guys coming to Erie to fish for Salmon dressed like they were in a blizzard when it was in the 60's and sunny. It was not uncommon to have people wet wading. I might guess that the waders were green vinyl stocking foot that came in a plastic bag from K-Mart?

See if this photo is better. Also I wonder if anyone was at Trout Run as we were in the 80's when the huge rush of water hit the shore early that morning. It was a mini tsunami that wiped out the whole beach area. I'll write a short story about that event in the near future.......it was unreal what happened that day!!!!

I was at the nut that day that the wind was strong out of the south all night. Right about day break it got real still and all of a sudden water started to rush in from the lake. I remember tackle boxes, lanterns, lawn chairs...bobbing in the water going upstream. My brother in law and I were very wet from the waiste down, but we saved all our stuff.

That pic of trout run where they are fishing on both sides...looks pretty crowded. And that was before Al Gore invented the Internet. I thought no one knew back then...?
