And cold i got those video glasses for a reason! You know I will YouTube that when I do it. I'm thinking with the weather they're calling for if the lakes stay open and we get a light or a south wind I'm going to take the fly rod out for some like in the shallows out of the yak.

Niiiice.

I picked up a few 'eyes on the fly already this year. Definitely want to haul the yak up there this spring for some crappie and eye action...should be a good year after a winter of little to no pressure from the ice dUUds.

You have an open invite. I'll let you know when they start running and you let me know when you can come up.

Pymy north of the causeway wide open still south has some open holes in the middle. I'll check again tomorrow and see if it changes were getting snow and wind right now so I'm not sure. It's 25 in the truck as I'm typing this

No the dam is the south end by Jamestown. I'll check out the north end tomorrow and see how it held to this rain.

I checked Pyma from Jamestown to Linesville this morning and everything was water covered, with open water at the spillway at linesville. On the way back was when I saw 2 guys on the ice on the east side of the Dam. it did not look like anything that I would even consider going on myself.

Just drove over the causeway and I am gonna have open water to fish under the bridge!! There was a bit of accessible water near the spillway but it was off in the corner, not by the wire where I want to be. Hopefully I can hook in to something when I head over to fish it in about an hour. Report to follow....

You might as well put the ice fishing on the back burner for this year. February and March brings rain and if you don't have ice by now, you're not going to.

It's definately not looking very good for an ice season. If we do get ice, it won't be on for very long. 10 day has high temps above freezing just about every day.

Bring on early open water crappies and gills I guess?!?!?!

Hey now keep the umbrella rigs a secret. That was my plan all along haha. I just used the crappie run as a cover up.

This weather is completely screwing with our minds lol. I'm almost tempted now to pull the boat out of storage and hit the lake that way seeing its not going to happen by walking out there.

I couldn't tell you normally I'm on ice and couldn't fish from shore if I wanted to. The outflow is probably moving from the rain and melted snow. I know the lake is up so they've gotta be releasing it. My guess is some can be picked up from the causeway but that's only a guess.

I'm going to pull the boat out in 2 weeks on my days off and find those suspended slabs.

Just drove the whole lake. Only ice is by the dam and it looks like some iceburgs pushed together and about 500 yards long all the way across just. Orth from Jamestown marina area. Neither one even remotely close to being safe. At least 3 boats out on the water today also.

The outflow is ripping they have it wide open right now and one guy was fishing the creek mouth.

If it stays like this the "ice out" walleye bite may be the end of feb rather than mid march.

I was at the outflow last Sunday and it was a little heavy but fishable. No luck but was only there about an hour. About 10 guys scattered from outflow down the trail a bit and didn't see anyone else pulling in anything.

I jigged some blades a few days before that on the PA bridge where there was some open water but no luck, just lost a few blades.

chompin at the bit to get up there, but it won't be until late march for me. man, i miss that lake.

Cold, long time, no hear!!!

We'll probably run into each other this year at pymy. I'm looking around for a new pair of waders and as soon as I'm done screwing around with all the doctors, I'll be there, ASAP.
