It depends on why you left in the first place and what your expectations are if you start again. There is less game and fewer places to hunt than there was a decade ago. The sun rises and sunsets are still there but you don't need to hunt to see them.
It's still good exercise but you can do that without carrying a weapon. What will you be giving up in order to make time for hunting.

NO, hunting is not once what it used to be. Everyone is competing against one another. Iternet forums have become battle grounds and the PGC has become one of the worst game agency's we've seen in decades as far as being greedy and managing game. License sales are decreasing and will continue. If you have other interests that you enjoy in the outdoors other than hunting by all means go after them and enjoy. Our hunting world is changing and not for the better.

It is what you make it. I figured a LONG time ago that there would come a time that if you wanted to hunt you better own ground or know someone who does that will let you hunt.

If you have any interest Skip, you should go for it! Everything negative that's been said about hunting could also be said for steelhead fishing, so....

BloodyHand, the opposite happened to me... fishing took over my hunting time, then my wife took over my fishing time...

Depends on what you want out of it. I spent three hours in a treestand tonight without a weapon and loved every minute of it.  If you like being in the woods with the chance of maybe harvesting some game, sure, it is worth it.

Absolutely it is worth getting back into hunting if you have an interest and truly want to enjoy hunting.

Don’t pay any attention to the losers that post all the negative nonsense on this web site. I have to suspect a fair percentage of them are actually anti-hunters that jump around infiltrating hunting web sites just to cause as much damage to both hunting and wildlife management as possible.

There are many great hunters and conservationists within the hunter ranks of this state, though perhaps not so much on this web site. If you seek out some of the ones with a positive attitude you can have the best days of your life as a hunter. You can also find as much success in hunting as you are willing to put into it provided you actually want to find success.

I believe it was actually killed by an amish guy in Kentucky.

There was a story on either Outdoorlife's or Field and Stream's website that debunked a bunch of the notorious email and text message bucks.

The sport has been though major changes over the years and coming from a WCO what else could you say but yes ? In the future only th rich will have the best opportunity and odds to kill trophy game in Pa. It's already happening now .

Some of the best bucks in the state are being harvested on public lands where anyone can hunt for just the price of a hunting license.

If my other comments are a shoe that you feel fits you then you can wear it, if it doesn’t fit then you should just leave it alone.

Just to keep things in realistic perspective here, the HUGE majority of "trophy" bucks are taken on private lands. The biggest contributor to the record books wmu-wise is 2b with the smallest amount of public land and the highest amount of highly restricted and off limits lands.

You got it wayne ! It didn't really expect RSB to agree with me. If he did his superiors would have to set him down and have a talk with him. You all realize it his job to agree with the Commission and support them as it's jobs like his he is protecting. Some folks feet fit their shoes perfectly and some fit their mouths perfectly also.

Does the shoe fit or do you have a guilty conscious ?
Lately your posting attitude has been 90% negative. That's not saying your not bringing up good banter. even though it's negative in tone some of it does have some truth to it some of it not.

As far as the future yes it will be only the rich who have the best opportunity for so called trophy animals. Just watch any hunting show on TV. Deer hunting has ruined the sport of hunting as a whole.

So, we, who are license buying hunters in PA, are now losers in addition to being goons, thugs, and not good guys and in your opinion are anti-hunters as well.

Do your superiors know just how wonderful of a job of customer, because that is who we are, relations you are providing?

Maybe it is about time they found out.

They feel he is welcome to provide his own input regardless of views on his own free time, and not as a rep. of the agency, which is why they ordered him to refrain from using his crendentials on his name or signature line as he had for years previously.

With posts like this it is not hard to understand why so many hunters despise the PGC.

I had generally been supportive of the PGC in the past, but lately I find myself to be on the fence more so now than ever.  Posts such as this and others by you (a representative of the PGC) have undoubtedly been contributing to my shift in position.  The arrogant and condescending nature of your posts has instilled more negativity on this site than you seem to realize.

Not all WCO's are like what are experiencing here.I know a few and have talked to many. Some have agreed that some need to change their attitude when dealing with the public and I agree. "All" must represent the PGC in a professional manner and I'm not seeing that. This type of attitude of never being wrong and past experiences of being lied to or tricked has left much of our woods vacant. When a WCO or DWCO gets out of control the word spreads like wildfire and trust is lost in the PGC. Call me a basher or say my comments are 90% negative but I have an opinion and I choose to express it.
