cant get salmon eggs to cure
well after i got done "curing them" they still wont hold on a hook and will pop when i try to put them on, any suggestions?

Good luck with that. I was told the way singles are cured is an acid dip. I'm not sure of what kind of acid or for how long but good luck. Team Pottsie

you ruined them somehow did somethin rong cant fix them toss out and try agoin hopethishelpa

Just Go to Poor Richards, they got killer singles. Ask for the juicy eggs they keep em in back.

They also have "Pro-Cure" with directions or you can use borax!

i like to do stuff on my own, it helps cure cabin fever, cant exactly make a trip to poor richards, it about 250 miles away.

Just go to dollar tree get some borax cures eggs just as good soak for a half hour, rinse and refrigerate

The cures mentioned above are great for sacs but you will pop them if trying for singles, the cure is top secret, pm if interested

dilute the acid. 3 table spoons per gallon of water. soak for 20 min. drain, rinse then see if they will go on a hook. if they pop, do 20 min or until they are the way u like them. you must do a 1st step cure 1st. i use the clear water cure and do as the directions say then store them in mason jars. after this cure you can tie sacs with them. do the acid cure before your fishing trip. i dont know why its such a secret. the bait shops are the only people that make money on them.

I got 50% Muriatic 50% distilled water for 8 seconds.. If they start turning white dilute the acid with more water. just do a few trial runs with a small amount of eggs till u get it right. make sure you rinse them following the acid bath to stop curing process. poke a few with a hook till you get the right consistancy. If they pop leave them in a little longer. Itryintohelpa

I used the "shake n cure" available on this site, easy to follow directions, had good eggs for sacs in 1 hour.
