Another day on the water

We woke up at 4 and stopped for our annual sheets coffee and got to the water around five. Knowing we had a long hard paddle ahead of us we got there early. We finally managed to get to our honey hole we found after a day swamp ramping. The fog kept it close and personal till about ten. Saw a lot of mallards today and large groups of woodies. With the birds working our decoys perfectly we managed three woodies and two mallards. Could have shot more but we were so caught up in the moment of watching the mallards and calliing we let them go and just watched them work. At one point in the morning my partner and I were facing the opposite direction to turn around to a male woodie about to take our heads off with the excitement lets just say that duck got away and it was at five yards and the safety forgot to go off. Can't wait for Saturday

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Saw a flock of swans Sat. on the lake. Missed a few geese and two ringnecks flew over at breakneck speed..
was a beautiful evening after the morning fog and rain.
