Trout & Godfrey Mouths

With the creek conditions getting tough,I have never fished the lake at the mouth of any tribs.I have a camp close to both tribs. What baits, presentations, and tactics to use to try and hook ump with a staging steelie?I fly fish for em in the tribs.Any info would be greatly appreciated.Along with the jokes about yeller rope and blu pwr bates...;)

everything you use in the stream is equally effective when they are staged.  Krocodile spoons, cleos, kastmasters, flatfish, assorted flies, egg sacks, trout beads... you name it and it will work.  The only tough thing about the mouths are waves

I fly fish the lake when it's flat all you need to do is roll cast and your in business, egg patters work best for me.

I use a fly rod with 2 flys so if the first one doesn't snag em the second one will. Hope this helps.

If you fly fish there make sure you post up right next to the arrogant fly fisherman that is always there, aka, Permafrown.  You will know who he is, he is either in the line or on a float tube, casts left handed, and doesn't care about who or what is behind him.  He fishes a tandem rig too, and uses "flies" to catch fish.  He's awesome, great guy to have a friendly conversation with,  Just start asking him a bunch of questions...def the expert at Trout Run.
