$100 fines

Fish wardens pulled everyone out of the tubes on Fri. Checked license/fish and some people were fined $100 for parking at the tubes. There are signs and if you park there.......

No working during fishing hours

Should have towed-em. A long walk to the impound, will make the walk from a legal parking area seem short next time.

We drove past the guys parked there.  It was pretty halfazz on their part to park 3 cars right past a sign that says closed to motorized vehicles...

Way to go guys, and people actually have the audacity to complain about landowners closing down their property. Follow the rules or go home!

Not to sound to stupid, as I haven't followed this much, but... Is it just the nursery side that is closed or is it both the railroad and nursery side. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the railroad owns the access road to the tubes and you were (?) allowed to park at the top?

Are they parking on the access road in the field or along Creek Road? The Fish Commission can post the access road once you turn off Creek Road. I agree they should be ticketed for parking there. However the PFBC have no authority to post along Creek Road itself. That lies solely with Girard Township Supervisors, and they have no ordinance prohibiting parking along the road. Additionally the PFBC have the road going down the hill along Godfrey Run to the lake posted as walk in only, and there are no parking signs along the road. The PFBC was told to remove all those signs last year by PennDOT. Godfrey Road is a PennDOT road, and PennDOT has no driving or parking restrictions on the road.

Not every angler can physically walk to these spots, so don't give me the "walk there" song and dance. I have never met anyone who would not trade their disability for the ability to walk in and fish some prime waters like all you healthy guys walk to.

So here we go, dancing around the real answer once again. Fact is, the property owners had it posted because of inconsiderate people whom make all fishermen look like careless idiots who respect no boundaries. Parking elsewhere and walking in does not fix the problem. More landowners will just keep posting because some would rather just skirt around laws and do what they please. Good luck with that!

Ok, to be more clear, the (was) Conrail tubes on Elk. Both sides or just one are off limits? Its a simple question! I love fishing the tubes and we always park on the railroad property side of it. I would just like to know what is the deal? Or I'll just make a call when we go up. But this might help some other fellows out who might not know.

Just trying to get an idea of what is more important...property or human life...  If some can gripe over PFD law, why can't I gripe over parking signs...it is only property...

Truth be told...if it came down to continuing Steelhead program or the eroding of property rights...I would vote to eliminate the Slimers (for those that do not get this...Navigatable Waterways and angler access). I suspect that the majority of people care more about having the ability to fish than they actually care about property owners and their issues (Jim Sharpe being a notable exception). Anyone remember the Stream Clean-ups that used to take place? How many were there?...I know I was there for all of them before moving...Do they even take place now? If not...how come?

My guess is that the only reason people are getting upset about illegal parking is because of the fishing. Otherwise, would anyone really care enough to start a thread about it?

We participated in one cleanup, and I think that was about 10 years ago. I think there was one or two? since then but we couldn't make it, or didn't know in time. I fully support this and would participate if it was organized. I clean up trash every time I fish but I've been to some areas where the trash is disgusting and this kind of stuff needs to stop.
from things that I've seen left behind, and disgusting actions of some "fisherman" that I have heard of, I can totally understand why people post their property.

yes, but it's SOMEONE ELSE'S property. the law is in place in order to prevent people from abusing the rights of others.
