sorry db, the brown kings just was not what I was expecting.. A little bling, bling would have been flattering for sure.. Still great job on the sharks and kudos for the pic's.. we all know you put dem hooks in there for the pic's ..lol.. btw, the last 2 are the same fish correct ? not splittin hairs just askin.. Sounds like you had a great weekend..

Keep the pic's coming and maybe some day I'll be able to post some new ones up myself..

thats hysterical charlie... lmao... i made a point to do the head shots since every fish i landed was hooked in a different spot in the mouth; but yes, who's to say someone cant just pull the hook out and put it in the mouth??? ive often thought of that myself when people pride in taking shots of the fly in the mouth... im surprised you were the first to mention that out of this crazy bunch in here you can ask a few of the douglaston river keepers for sheer proof if you still dont believe(just pulling back a little)...

hey, definitely try that white estaz with the colored underlye.... and yes even smaller in the winter... you can tie it on an egg, pupa, or scud hook... use that stretch thread that they make in various colors and then either wrap the whole body with the estaz or just the head...

see ya when the kings fizzle out....

If I remember correctly there were 2 people that posted such pics.
One you claimed you blew up the pic and the fish was foul hooked.
You never posted that blown up pic and you never answered my post asking how to do it for myself.

The other person was me.
The thing about putting the fly in the fishes mouth works if YOU were fishing alone but I was fishing with 2 board members that witnessed the event.
Harder to pull off with people watching from the cast to the release.

tuna, i wasnt expecting it either but it was more or less inevitable on sunday morning... with only two steelies on... i figured youd be less than flattered by the king pics they were good and strong though... nothing like any other kings i had seen on the river the previous day...

on saturday the steel that were packed in dsr earlier in the week had made there way to staircase and above... sunday was a king fest down there... and of course the next day monday was a slamming trout day again... missed it by a day twice

yes; looking back on my pics the last two are the same fish... good eye i had forgotten when i loaded all of the pics in and posted the double on accident...

all in all; it was a great time; great times were had with some great people... even when not fishing or not catching fish (while fishing/bee-essing)...

i am stoked for the steelhead season to come though...

WB:

i find it funny that you now posted what you did while making posts earlier on in the thread... are you taking the intertubes seriously or something???...

maybe read back and notice the winks in the post i made that youre referring to... and the answer is NO... i was not referring to you at all

and for the fly in the mouth thing; lmao... and i'll leave it at that....

im really not inclined to say anymore;

tight lines...
