Dead Brown Trout

Stopped at 20 mile at the bridge on Rt 5 just to watch the fishermen and check out the fish. Watched for a while and then walked across the road to look up stream to check out the fish in the hole above the bridge. Only saw one fish that was laying in shallow water close to the edge of the stream in about 4" of water. Thought that was strange. What was stranger yet was three dead Brown Trout laying on the bottom of the stream. Anybody willing to guess what killed them?

LMAO!!!!!!!  We are still trying to determine what killed the dinosaurs - what is a lowly Brown Trout to humanity?

My guess laughter killed the fish - laughing at all the fools standing in 4" trying to catch him/her.

A jealous lover who decided "if I can't have her, no one can." Then in a fit of passionate rage, one trout thrashed the other two until they stopped swimming. Then, he turned the treble hook on himself and swallowed it whole. The last image in his view was the lady trout swimming upstream toward a more worthy candidate.

hooked and over played , then beats the chit out of it's self  flopping around on the rocks and graBBles as the wouldbe troutgawd beaches them.
then further beats the he11 out of it's self as our sOOper hero  attempts to get   his trophy pined down  in a submission hold while mashing it into rocks    so he can  remove the hook  from the side of it's face .
If there's a camera around, it further endures more punishment  with fists in the gills as pics and congratulatory slaps on the back are doled out

    OR...

they simply  commuted suicide to avoid the above scenario a half dozen or more times ...

This has been mentioned before, but....
It's funny how some guys get all upset if a trout is overplayed, mishandled, roped, smoked, photographed, held, beached, etc. But with many other species of fish, it matters not.
By the way, I am very much in favor of proper fish handling, being good stewards of the fishery and all the rest. But have we gone
a little overboard with our concern for stocked trout?

Holy moly Bill I bet your happy you ask that question huh !!!

There will be days when fishing is better than ones optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
