Yeah, thought thursday's rain was going to do something....WRONG. Elk was super clear and low today. Fish were spazzing out all day.

Streams are blown out for the weekend.

    EVERYONE STAY HOME!!!

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Just checked Elk Creek's live webcam and that didn't look bad at all. Anyone have anything better to report? I'm thinking about leaving Pittsburgh around 2 am tonight to drive up just for Saturday. Probably the only weekend for a while that I'll be able to get up there until the spring with hunting season already started. Feel free to PM me.

With all the winds forecast for the weekend, it's going to be raining leaves.
But, should be some purdy water for the weekend.

Guys look at the gauges and they should tell you all you need to know!
In addition consider the rainy forecast for the weekend, where things wont get any better.

West side creeks a bit brown but good level. Fished good this morning, lots of leaves though.

Drove three hours to Elk this morning to find high water, leaves, tree limbs, etc. Fished three hours along with 10 other people with Zero results. Drove back home but will come back up Sunday for a couple of days before heading for New York Wednesday. If the Erie area gets any more rain tonight or tomorrow the creeks may be shot for the entire weekend.

Stay home folks.  Got a lot more rain last night.  My little creek is outside its banks right now.  Elk hasn't peaked yet.  Even if we didn't get any more rain, it would be Sunday afternoon at best.

Edit:  As of noon, rain forming over the lake dropping continuous showers on the trib drainage.  Can probably forget about anything on Sunday now as there's no end in sight.  Trying to keep a positive attitude.  But for those of us who work such long week hours, a missed weekend like this is such a bummer.
