10/12

Called in sick and hit water by 730, fished down below trestle in fast water. First fish on was a steelie, second big brown neither landed. Then lots of king with some hoes mixed in, landed a beautiful 12lb steelhead, my buddy mostly found kings but he was fishing beads and I was swinging flies. Got a ton of picks, flies were rootbeer bugger best fly of the day. Flesh flies and egg sucking leechs. The leaf hatch really started around 11 with the picking up of the wind, crowds were low in the area I fished. Started with 10lb tippet but after 5 or 6 break offs went to 15 pound and kept most on after that. What a day!!! Will be back up on friday, only worked 6 hrs this week better make it a full day tomorrow.

Hey 3 fan they will be fine overnight in a cooler on ice or in the fridge sealed in a container. It would pay to rinse them with cold spring water through a sifter if you have time

There were plenty of kings much lower w/ at least as many BIG mean steelies.

Steel on a pin---so easy a caveman can do it.
