Locals

What exactly constitutes a "local" Pulaskian business?
What does it mean to support "local" business?
Since I first started fishing the river pretty much every, I can't think of any, fishing related business had changed hands being sold by locals to people from outside the Pulaski area

How does spending money in a tackle shop or eatery owned by someone from another city or state make one a supporter of Pulaski "local" business?

any stimulation of the economy helps the local economy
even if a building owner is from out of town they pay taxes, buy things and services to up-keep the building and more than likely hire local people to run those shops/bars/ restaraunts....so why does it matter if they are locals or not?

i find most of the local people to be friendly, helpful and just plain nice...so much so that i have thought about retiring in that area
but then again i treat them with respect and in a friendly way

maybe the people who are always b-1tching about the "locals" are not deserving of being treated well...attitude reflects back on you

Also; whether someone is from out of state or not; if they currently live in the region while owning or running business in the region.... wouldn't that mean that they are a local business???? I would think yes...

The question was what makes a business owned by non locals a"local"business.
    This is my thread.
Can you point to anywhere I have posted anything b-itching about locals?
If not what was the purpose of YOUR posting that line.
You are right attitude does reflect back on you!

yes you did start this thread
i was not, however, directing that response at you

i am very comfortable with my attitude being reflected at me
mine only goes south when people are rude, do illegal things, hurt me or mine, or tries to single me out or come after me when i have done NOTHING to them....and when that happens people find out why i am bigbear

with that said, i have no issue with you

You mean like posting call out threads against the moderator?
    Grow some skin...

or perhaps contact the owners of FishUSA directly with your compliants...
let us know when that happens, so I can contact them in support of Slammo - along with a link to my recent purchase history from their Erie shop (Chips on the table to back up a King Card).

Look around the interwebs, BBng abounds everywhere.

Just because someone moves in long enough to make a quick buck doesn't make them a local.

The Mahoneys called themselves locals after they moved in after living in CT there whole lives.

When you move somewhere for the money you will never be a local.

Old people that move to Fl are never thought of as real locals.
They are residents but not locals.

I'm working on a new blues rag, guess I'll go pick, too.  Syncopation is always better than constipation.   I'd rather be offbeat than beaten down.

Hey guys I'm just about getting home from work when I get home I will make sure to hit my drums as loud as I can so maybe you guys will be able to hear them from where you are and you can then have a subtle back beat behind your guys smooth guitarr picking...

BB feel free to go fishing this weekend.
I didn't empty the river afterall.

    Got up.
    Fueled up on coffee.
Strapped myself into the Bugatti veyron.
Cranked up the Top Gear theme song.
    http://youtu.be/760MbjAekb4
Parked, suited up and headed for a spot on the lower river word had it was flush with kings, chome and coho (yesterday).
Grab the rod and hit the trail cause its

    [image][/image]

Fished there, then went to mid river, then upper river.
Even went to the egg flies and tried to hit
    [image][/image]

Nothing but greenies everywhere (OK there was a BUNCH of not so greenies also)no sparklies for me.
Sorry no salmon pics but I brought the six shooter and I ain't landing no kings on it.
    Could, have but won't.

The best catch of the day
    going in
    [image][/image]
    coming out
    [image][/image]
The bag was really empty going in and full coming out.

    I left plenty for everyone.
