I had the perch at the Park Tavern (East Side), and was pretty good. Although, it is kind of hard to pass up wings when there. Order some sides of a few of their wing sauces for your perch, and probably end up with the best perch you'll ever have.

I'll second the Freeport Inn...used to be Pittsburgh Inn on Rt. 5 but last time I was there it wasnt as good...

Freeport has great food, but I never order perch or walleye at restaurants...not with 2 freezers full at home. Plus, I haven't found anyone that could make it as well as I can anyway...'cept maybe Dukenukem.

Although there is one place I noticed on the north side of Rt. 5 on the way to Trout Run that had a big sign : Real Lake Erie Perch. Didn't see the name of the restaurant. I'll have to give that a try. They had an article in the Erie Times on perch in restaurants, and it said because of the few commercial fisherman, the majority of perch does not come from Lake Erie. Some even comes from Poland! Even the owner of Freeport admitted that he does not always have Lake Erie perch.

Dam, that was some good perch..... Was even better all I had to do was catch some of them. The Master with the filet knife cleaned them all and the Master Chef cooked them up. If I just would have had an Old Mill..
