It's with a heavy heart
A decision I have made....
After 5 years
I will no longer be cooking at the One Fly Event .....
Recent Events have made me switch direction.....
I'm going to be working on a year round project real soon I hope....

Somewhere out there...several pigs just breathed a sigh of relief, and they didn't even know why. All of our hearts are a bit heavier too, thanks to all that barbecue.  ...and thanks to you, my friend.

shore lunches for all??? you can watch the vets fish and cook at the same time. LOL
Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Alot of talk over the weekend about what needs to change. The event is becoming something it wasn't meant to be.

As everyone else has said, a big thanks to you and deb for the last 3 years that I have been there and all the help with the surprise birthday party for Erin last year. The food will not be the same without you guys!
The worst day hunting or fishing will always be better then the best day at school or work!

Your efforts are certainly appreciated...This is wonderful event but it has grown out of its pajamas. Maybe we could keep the food down to a basic plan like Hotdogs and Burgers.Maybe even cut down on the prizes and logistics. Back to a basic format, a refocusing so to speak with out exhausting the behind the scenes folks who unselfishly prepare. I love this event, I have met some dear friends and watched it create good will amoung hundreds of people...It may be getting to close to blowing the lid right off the pot and that would be a shame.

Denny said it best. This event has grown exponentially in the last few years since my first event. Ive met some very good fisherman, some very great people, and hell, even met some new friends since i've joined this site and started attending the one fly. We are losing an unselfish, and overall a great person from the event, hopefully you still get to make the trip to attend the event next year. Thanks for everything Skip.
