Peak Season Survival Kit

Well with all the reports from this week, and the zoo in full force, here's my recommendations :

SLEEP IN : no need to start at 0 dark :00... you'll get to your spot early only to have 40 guy's walk thru your water minutes later..so take it easy, sleep in , check out the spots, at least you'll know what the crowds are like when you get there and have no surprises.

EAT A GOOD BREAKFAST AND PACK FOOD: Once you start fishing, better to stay on the river right thru lunch and dinner when everyone else takes a break. This is the chance to fish your favorite spot for an hour or so.

GO OFF THE PATH: This time of the year the fish are everywhere, and even if not a major pod, there are always 1's, 2's, and 3"s moving thru. Find some quiet water, it's there. Nothing like the feeling of beating the crowds when you hook up with no one, or few people around this time of year. You'll feel much better at days end then if you were combat fishing...just ask Tuna.

PACK A FLASK AND WHATEVER ELSE: Take a break on the river, enjoy the day, beats working.

PACK A CAMERA: Pictures break up the day. If you can get a few of your day/fish/trip, you'll enjoy the trip much more as you reflect on it once it's over.

PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK: Take a deep breath, relax, know what's in store, don't have to many expectations, and if you've found a section of river to yourself, hooked up with a few fish, then you've done well.

HAVE SCOTCH AND A BEER

DAYS DONE

if I saw the singer (him or it) in the woods while yote hunting I would shoot him.

    no hate,

just too freaky to be walkin in the same woods as me.

Reminded me of Eagle Crg and Griz when they don't have their coffee in the morning.  Of course a visit by the Village People would really make it a great day at the Tressle Pool!

last time I checked, Alice removed makeup post-show.

Marilyn - or whatever he calls himself, is pure freak, carries more lead inserts than a Trestle Pool Village Person.

    wanna get away?

How bouts a nice quiet spot upper River?

    current conditions:

    ******

    Been there, done dat.

Oldsalt - please add big jug of bourbon & splash of 7UP to my Survival Kit.

Not knockin - but visions like that pic keep me from wanting to be there.
And I know the crowds continue up to the Rte 52 bridge and equal distance below the Cove.

    No place to hide.

Wonder what that guide (and his clients) are thinking?

There is no way you would find me in that zoo,and I doubt there are any biters there. However, once those fish get a mile or so up river they settle down and do bite, first hand experience.

Send prize to DB (2nd place non-specific guesser).

I checked my mailbox the other day - nothing more than unwanted NRA $ solicitations and Cabelas catalongs - both of which I requested several times to be ceased and desisted.

I drew obsence pictures on the NRA response card and stuffed all the crap back in the NRA postage paid envelope and sent it back to Wayne.

The A-holes lost a paid member over 2 years ago with their unrelenting junk mail bombings, and I still get crap mailed to me on occasion.

    ****in Leeches.

I might add to the Peak Season Survival KIt for These BOARDS :

: FULL METAL JACKET , HELMET & STAINLESS CUP

    : FIFTH OF SCOTCH/BOURBON

    : NON-SHRINK PANTIES

thats hysterical salt; i often hear people saying that on the erie boards..lmao

fortunately on the erie boards there actually is some moderating... unlike this one; and at this point it would be completely hypocritical and cowardly for the moderator of this board to moderate any of the BS that has been flung around this board lately...

i guess it is peak season though...
