Muddy waters are upon us!!

I went out to check the east tribs today. All high and muddy in the am. Started clearing as I left (of course) around 1, but then more rain came. Clearing up outside now. Tomorrow I plan to hit them one more time. Today I tried 12mi for the first time (only at the mouth). Saw 2 get caught (youngins) and 2 lost in 2hrs. There were a few rolling but couldn't see a whole lot going on. Everybody who went upstream came back down to the mouth before I left (if that says anything). I think it is 6 with the falls above 5 that looked promising to me. May try it. Anybody seeing anything at the other tribs? I heard it's still slow. Can't wait to see what's in there that we are missing!!

Best fishes to you and yours!!

I was at 12 mile in the morning and it was very clear. Had a few hookups but none landed. Around 4 I was there when the water started to get really high and the water looked like chocolate. I lost one in the high water after 20-30 min fighting it. 12 mile looked like it was a river when I left at 5. The water was high enough that they could have gotten over the water falls atleast yesterday.

OK, the same creek was muddy, and clear on the same day at the same time? That's really strange.

Lol. If 12mi is off of Moorheadville (which is what I was told it was), it was plenty muddy at the mouth. I cannot speak for above as I did not have time to go upstream. Maybe that's where PSU was? All I know is I saw a bunch go up, then came back down. The mouth was clearing up at 1pm but it was still murky in the middle. Either way, we are getting the rain we need thankfully and later this week (for all us clear water lovers) should be awesome!

For those little creeks, you don't want a lot of visibility. Less is better.
Just as long as there isn't leaves and sticks floating down the creeks, you can catch fish.

You should not be fighting a fish for 20-30 minutes unless you are definitely keeping it.

Sometimes 1 minute fighting a hot chrome can feel like about 4 minutes of actual time.  Just sayin   I think that often the length of a fight is usually more exaggerated than the length of the fish.

I like seeing them better personally. Always have liked watching the attack. Also, it is nice to know I'm not throwing at mud only.
