One fly help

Any chance someone can help me and my friend fly cast when we are up there? Maybe after we are done eating or something? I have a general idea of how to cast, and i believe he does to but i'd love for someone with several years of experience to help me and him out. Thanks

If I run into you after we eat we'll throw some flys. I'll have an extra rod with me and maybe you could wet a fly there in the creek. Basic lessons are free and so are the flys if you lose a few.

Honestly, I would like to tag along as well, I have never had anyone show me how to cast, I have just taught myself.... and I am not a great teacher... Roll casting perplexes me to this day.

Keep in mind that "most" steelhead fishing on the Erie tribs is done within 10 to 30 feet so you don't need to practice swinging a fly like you see the "Pros" on TV doing trying to get a fly out there 40 to 60 feet. As you progress and find you have a need to do that you will be able to practice in the back yard or your local farm pond. Get the first few feet down and learn the basic fundamentals - walk before you run. See you on the water.

This is a video of joe humphreys. I got to meet this fly fishing legend this year while taking the mastery course at psu. Its easier helping people in person but this shows you how to cast short distances
