ORIGINAL: salmotrutta Settle down drake. You may need a little hash or something. No Thanks Mr. Pezdispenser. Sunday Dinner at Mom's house fit the bill - better than a pill. Off for a Sunday afternoon Nap - with visions of thick black flumes of smoke - from half wet waders hangin on hooks, and smoldering red vests... No FishFry - cancelled due to mandated C&R in Dougieland - Chumpie.

You don't have to chew the kings up by Altmar. Makes for a great fish dinner. Throw a couple salmon steaks on the barbie and all you need is a sraw to eat them.

As for old timers. Anybody remember ole Hickory that used to write an outdoor column for the Pulaski paper? 13 and I are in Whittikers before the Rushers took over. The old man is talking about adding a piece of angle iron to the front of his boat and sinking Hick because he kept writing negative articles about snagging. Haven't thought of him in years.

Yea I-always read 'old Hickory' - he was kinda a real 'purist' and talked a lot bout knowing all the holes and stuff. We used to think he wasnt too happy bout all the attention the River got cause it was kinda his. Gave a lot of good info and really loved the river- just didnt like a lot of the fishermen. Think he would really go off on bobbers and stuff like that. DSR- Hey- the 'report' today says its better than the past coupla days-guys on the river went down there and said slowwww for the past coupla days- they came back upriver. That rain on the weather report last weekend didnt really amount to squat- Was gonna go there but with this weather and the conditions didnt really expect much action so -gonna wait for more 'biting' Kingers later on.

I thought tree leaves were supposed to blow around in the wind - instead of feminine napkins... Someone needs a few well-placed stitches sewn in by a gynocologist... Don't bleed on the rest of us - SALLY.

Wow- my Coho was like twice that one, and I didn't need any weight! I guess the small ones hang in those little pockets? I knew there was a reason I fished proper pools with no weight!

ORIGINAL: bigbear2010 looks like you found a dead one floating and stuck the fly in the mouth to me thats freekin hysterical... not for nothing but that fish looks like the fly is on the outside/underneath of the under jaw based on the line pulling on it (once enlarged) now i know this is an old one; but here it is again...

Since this is the DSR thread--- The DSR folks seem to have been giving some very believable and accurate reports of late- have been impressed with their candor. Have not seen some of the verbage that usually comes with a lot of the commercial reporting up there for some time now and its very refreshing. When speaking to guys on the river last week who had fished down low and then reading the reports they were just what had been observed by fishermen. The reports are not overly encouraging but show what seems to be a steady trickle- a bit better today- thats OK. It is what it is and the crowds up there show "that they will come" even with only that one big push as yet and there is no need to embellish. Kudos to those who are writing the releases.

OK I copied salmos pic to my picasa. Then I cropped down to the mouth. Enlarged it but couldn't keep it clear enough to even try to say that it was not hooked in the mouth, not knowing how the fly was tied (long shank, short shank, string leach) makes it impossible to determine. Anyone got a better way to clean up the image?
